CMAS             Certified Master Anti-terrorism Specialist

 

The CMAS is for Trainers and individuals that have extensive experience that manage operations and or conduct training.  Navy Cool program has negotiated with ATAB for Navy members military experience and training to be accepted for certification as a Certified Master Anti Terrorism Specialist.  Navy members who hold the CAS certification and have 5 years civilian law enforcement or Navy experience in the Master at Arms, Gunners Mate, Seals or Intelligence ratings/occupations will qualify for the time waiver.  If you are assigned to a counter terror position but do not hold a military rating in one of the above your file will be evaluated on an individual basis.

 

For a Navy Member to become a CMAS you must be a CAS in good standing and have a minimum of 5 years experience in the field.  You will have to submit an example of your management experience and knowledge base through a White Paper, Power Point presentation or Policy Manual, book or other item that you have written.  You can contact the Certification Chairman, Keith Flannigan at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The CMAS's are our first choice when companies contact us in search of Instructors to conduct in house training and or security audits or consulting for their firms.

 

With the Masters Certification you will receive an expanded DVD with much more response and resource information directed toward the protecting of secured or high risk facilities.   The program provides you with power points as well as videos on such topics as how to conduct Vehicle searches as well as the lesson plans for you to utilize while conducting your training.  You will also have many manuals and handbooks on terrorism and counter terrorism.

CAS-IT           Certified Anti-terrorism Specialist - Information Technology

 

Certification is for IT Professionals who know and understand information assurance. Proficient INFOSEC Managers who need to work the ISO Model to implement an IT program that lets managers and administrators work together to develop an IT program.  CAS-IT managers will be able to demonstrate the concepts of IT Security as well as understanding the threats and risks to IT systems or networks.  Designed to assist you in learning to write and implement, policy, disaster recovery or business continuity plans.  You will demonstrate your knowledge in how to diversify your protection strategy to enable you to indentify best practices that can be used to protect your information resources. Navy members must have completed the CAS and CAS-CTR certification before application for the CAS-IT may be submitted.

CAS-FA         Certified Anti-terrorism Specialist - Forensics IT Analyst

 

Forensics Analyst Certification is for CAS’s responsible for IT forensic investigation/analysis, advanced incident handling, or formal incident investigation. Certification requires knowledge in fundamental forensic concepts such as the file system structures of Windows and Linux, evidence acquisition, hash database comparisons, and full and partial file recovery and analysis as well as advanced forensic and investigation analysis topics and techniques. You will be tested on your understanding of the forensic methodology, tools, and techniques to successfully solve even the most difficult case.  This certification requires the CAS, CAS-CTR and CAS-IT certifications prior to submission of application.  Applicant is required to submit a white paper and detailed description of IT and Forensic experience as well as a white paper or writing sample providing proof of experience with Forensic Analyst.

CAS-CTR       Certified Anti-terrorism Specialist - Cyber Terrorism Response

 

Responders responsible for supervising Cyber incident response; CAS’s with a need to have a strong understanding of the current threats to systems and networks, along with proven and effective responses and countermeasures as well as the knowledge, skills and abilities to manage a cyber incident or attack.  They are aware of the common attack methods and techniques as well as the tools and procedures needed to manage a successful response to a Cyber attack.  Navy Members with Master at Arms, Gunners Mate, Seals or Intelligence MOS’s must have completed the CMAS program to be eligible for this program.  Navy members with IT or Cryptology/Cyber ratings or occupations require only the CAS prior to applying for this certification.

CAS-PSM       Certified Anti-terrorism Specialist - Physical Security Manager

 

Physical Security Managers need to be educated and experienced in many security practices.  While it is not necessary for you to actually DO the work you must understand what is required and what is being done.  The CAS-PSM demonstrates a highly trained professional with knowledge of techniques and theory as well as hands on experience.  You must be knowledgeable in both physical security as well as the new technical security methods being utilized in today’s technological world.  Passing this certification is designed to indicate your knowledge in designing integrated security systems as well as your ability to conduct Risk Assessments and Physical Security Surveys.  This test will reveal your knowledge of the best use of your security assets from your personnel and hardware to procedures and applications on installing and operating an integrated system.  Navy Members must have completed the CMAS program to be eligible for this program.
